How to organise your content studio images in Mailchimp like a pro

What to call images in Mailchimp

Images and photos in your content library can turn into an almighty mess if you don’t keep them organised. Here’s how:

  • Size them correctly BEFORE uploading into Mailchimp - ideally 1000px - 1200px wide. You can resize in Mailchimp but it’s much easier to do that beforehand.

  • Name your image files with searchable keywords e.g.

    • “Logo with strapline - yellow black on transparent background”

    • “Logo - black on white background!

    • “Logo favicon”

    • “Photo kids trainers white and blue lifestyle nature girl - square”

    • “Photo kids trainers black and grey studio boy girl twins - landscape”

    • “Jim Smith staff photo formal headshot - portrait”

    • “Jim Smith staff photo speaking at conference ”

    • “Staff team photo in office - landscape”

    • “Dogs running lifestyle banner”

  • Use folders to organise your images e.g.

    • Brand assets

    • Product photos

    • Lifestyle photos

    • Behind the scenes

    • Headshots

    • Events

  • Not needed? If you have lots of old images - maybe the wrong size, your old branding, terrible quality, too small, get rid of them. If you want a back-up, go into your Account & billing > Settings > Manage my data and you’ll see an option to export your images before removing them.
